Based on Chikamatsu Monzaemon’s puppet play “Kagekiyo Victorious”, this drama explores the samurai Taira no Kagekiyo and the sadness of humanity caught in the turmoil of warfare.

The old and blind samurai Taira no Kagekiyo, having lost his war, tells the story of his dramatic life to his visiting daughter. Directed by the remarkable Shintaro Mori and written by the up-and-coming Satsuko Fujino, Isao Hashizume leads a strong cast bringing this historical tale to life.
