This is the seventh Dance Biennale Tokyo, which launched in 2002. It features a diverse program of six dance performances and related exhibitions closely linked to music and language, staged at Spiral Hall and other venues.

A new dance about family by Kim Itoh’s recently formed company

The debut in Japan of an internationally acclaimed Czech dance company
Stripped of their freedom and the power to decide things for themselves, the seven dancers wearing shoes nailed down to the floor are locked in a desperate battle with their own shadows, accompanied by a live performance of modern minimal music by a clarinet quartet.
