This suspenseful drama follows a brother and sister in search of their family origins after the death of their mother. While clearly influenced by the writer’s own experiences growing up during the Lebanese Civil War, the play’s mystery is also reminiscent of the Greek tragedy “Oedipus Rex”.

The third in artistic director Junnosuke Tada’s series of creations for Kirari Fujimi, this is one of Shuji Terayama’s most famous plays. Thirty years on, it retains its power and Tada will recreate the work as a radical inquiry into society today.

15 years on from when Noda’s adaptation of Moto Hagio’s manga was first staged, now it is revived as a unique Japanese and Korean co-production, featuring a cast of Korean actors selected by open audition and the designers indispensable for Noda’s work.

Recently also appointed to head the Paris Opera Ballet, Benjamin Millepied’s L.A. Dance Project makes its much-anticipated first visit to Japan. Millepied and the young company dancers herald a new ballet and dance era.
Celebrating 460 years since the birth of Shakespeare, this very special staging of the Bard’s comedy features in the Owlspot Shakespeare Festival, adapted and directed by Kegawazoku’s Junko Emoto, who also stars. The classic play about male and female relations will be brought to bawdy life in this intense new version that is both jocular and cynical.

“Bluebeard’s Castle” is one of Shuji Terayama’s later plays, what he called a “magical musical”. This revival will feature Bluebeard’s seven wives played by actresses from a range of backgrounds, performed as a freak show-like spectacle in an abandoned theatre.
