Festival/Tokyo 2013's programs are divided into four areas: the Open Program, Main Program, Emerging Artists Program, and Affiliated Program.
Creates encounters and dialogue with others
through the Opening Event free for everyone to attend,
a huge sculpture installation,
and the participatory F/T Mob Special program.
Once again inquiring into the fundamentals of
theatre – drama and fiction, searching for
new forms of contemporary narrative.
Numerous works will explore new formats
for telling stories that respond to social changes,
and works that re-interpret classical texts
and myths from the contexts of today.
A platform for new artists in Asia to present
their theatre and dance work.
The F/T Award is given to the work judged
to have the best artistic value and then invited to
next year's Main Program.
Introduces other productions happening in Tokyo at the same time as the festival, further promoting the Tokyo theatre scene.
