Next year, it was my turn to die...
This is one of the most performed plays in France today. Suffering from a terminal illness, the protagonist goes back to his hometown but is unable to tell his family the truth. This portrait of a family that is unable to communicate, whose members love each other yet cannot help by hurt one another, takes on a wider implication for society as a whole. The play gained further recognition when it was made into a film in 2016 by Xavier Dolan.
