Kinoshita Kabuki, Shigeki Nakano + Kaku Nagashima: Titles announced
As announced in our previous
initial release of F/T13 details, the upcoming Festival/Tokyo this autumn will see the first participation by Kinoshita Kabuki and Shigeki Nakano + Kaku Nagashima. Both their productions' titles have now been announced.
"Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan" (new work, world première)
Kinoshita Kabuki / Yuichi Kinoshita, Kunio Sugihara
"Kaidan Yotsuya Zotan" (TBC) (new work, world première)
Shigeki Nakano + Kaku Nagashima
These two productions will both offer modern and fresh takes on a classic Japanese text, the famous ghost story "Yotsuya Kaidan" that has been adapted countless times for film, theatre and television.

The Kinoshita Kabuki staging of Tsuruya Nanboku IV's "Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan" kabuki play will last a mammoth four hours. Meanwhile, Shigeki Nakano + Kaku Nagashima will take a typically playful approach, looking back to the "Yotsuya Zotanshu", the source material for the "Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan", and creating a touring production around the Toshima and Zoshigaya area.
Further details will be released in late July when the entire F/T13 program is announced.
